Online lecture at Omiya Kaisei High School (Dec. 15)

On December 15, online lecture was held at Omiya Kaisei High School (Saitama Prefecture). About 30 first-year female high school students participated.
At first, Associate Professor Takeshi Okuyama of the Graduate School of Engineering and Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering gave a lecture titled “Measuring People”. He explained how to measure human movements and what kind of information can be obtained.
Next, Assistant Professor Noriko Tsuruoka of the Graduate School of Engineering and Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering introduced her research under the title of “Medical Treatment Expanded by Microfabrication”. She explained the development of devices realized by microfabrication and their application to medical treatment and healthcare.
Then, graduate student Towa Tanada (1st year, Master’s course, Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering) introduced her student life and gave advice on career choices and how to spend one’s high school years.
Finally, Assistant Professor Watanabe of ALicE gave an introduction the School of Engineering, Tohoku University..
The students asked many questions about research and student life, making it a very fruitful lecture.
